From the instructions
MPP says only a licensed mechanic should work on braking and suspension. The outer ball joints are not symmetrical: the height-sensor ball points down, the short end of the arm points to the rear, and the twist in the housing levels the joint. Recheck every fastener on a preassembled kit.
Tools
An impact gun or breaker bar for the wheels, a torque wrench, an 18 mm socket, a 15 mm socket, a 10 mm wrench, 8 mm, 4 mm, and 3 mm hex bits, metric Allen keys, a pry bar if you want one, a floor jack or transmission jack, and jack stands.
Fasteners and torque
At least eight turns of thread must remain between the outer ball-joint housing and the inner arm. Use the 45 mm bolts up to 12 mm of shims. Use the 60 mm bolts above that, up to 24 mm of shims.
Bolts that clamp the outer ball joint to the inner arm: 42 lb-ft.
Four nuts holding the arm to the truck: 37 lb-ft. Nut holding the ball joint to the knuckle: 59 lb-ft. Wheel lug nuts: 151 lb-ft.
Stock ride height on the built-in pin is the middle setting, 5.5 turns from either stop, locked with the M6 nut.
Steps
Step 1
Drop the factory arm
Jack the truck up and remove the wheel. Heat the ride-height link and pry it off the ball, using the same heat-and-cool method MPP describes for the Triple-L links. Support the lower control arm so the knuckle is at ride height, remove the 18 mm ball-joint nut, then the 15 mm arm bolts. The arm can spring upward from bushing preload. Keep the factory hardware, and note that the ride-height sensor returns to the rearmost stud.
Step 2
Build the new arm
Assemble the height-sensor bracket with a 4 mm hex. Set the ball stud to stock, 5.5 turns from either stop, and lock the M6 nut with a 10 mm wrench. Choose 3 mm, 6 mm, and 9 mm shims for 0 to 21 mm in 3 mm steps. Pick the 45 mm or 60 mm bolts for that stack and torque them to 42 lb-ft.
Step 3
Install the arm
Install in reverse. Confirm the ball-joint carrier is on the correct side, the outer joint is at 42 lb-ft, the factory knuckle nut is back on, and the ride-height sensor bracket is in the factory location. Heat the factory link to pop it back on.
Step 4
Torque and align
Torque the four arm-to-truck nuts to 37 lb-ft, the ball-joint-to-knuckle nut to 59 lb-ft, and the lug nuts to 151 lb-ft. Camber changes move the toe a lot. MPP says to set toe with plates or an alignment shop afterward.
