Tools
A ratchet with an extension, a 10 mm socket, a pick or small screwdriver, and the two Allen keys in the kit.
Fasteners and torque
The guide names a 10 mm bolt and the kit's Allen hardware. It does not give a torque number.
Steps
Step 1
Pop the tow-hook cover
On the driver-side tow hook, press the two openings at the top of the plastic cover with a pick or small screwdriver and pull the cover off.
Step 2
Slide the bracket under the bolt
Loosen the 10 mm bolt by the tow hook without taking it out. Slip the mounting bracket under the bolt and leave the washer outside the bracket.
Step 3
Tighten and replace the cover
Tighten the 10 mm bolt so the bracket sits parallel to the front of the tow hook, then press the plastic cover back on.
Step 4
Hang the plate bracket
Use the two larger kit bolts, with a washer on the first, to attach the slotted plate bracket. Finger-tighten, set the plate position, and tighten both with the included Allen key.
Step 5
Bolt the plate on
Set the plate on the bracket and fasten it with the included hardware and washers. BuiltRight notes that extra washers, which are not in the kit, depend on the plate's hole size. Tighten with the Allen key.
